The King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) is a prestigious and innovative research university. Established in 2009, it quickly gained recognition as a global hub for cutting-edge scientific research and technological innovation. The university was named after King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the former King of Saudi Arabia, who envisioned it as a centre for advancing science and technology in the region.
CULTURAL INNOVATIONS AND BECK APPOINTED TO DESIGN AND BUILD THE KING ABDULLAH UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (KAUST) WELCOME CENTER
Cultural Innovations and BECK have been selected as the designer and fit-out contractor for the Welcome Center renovation project at the prestigious King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) along the Red Sea in Saudi Arabia.
The existing Welcome Center will undergo a transformation into a captivating space that introduces visitors to KAUST’s vision and highlights the university’s offerings, both within Saudi Arabia and on a global scale. Visitors will be treated to an immersive and interactive experience within this engaging and inviting space, which is intended for VIP guests, faculty members, students, and much more.
KAUST currently educates and trains 1640 master’s and doctoral students supported by a robust academic community of 8330 members. With more than 120 nationalities working and living at KAUST, the University brings together people and ideas from all over the world.
The Design & Build project will see Cultural Innovations developing the concept and schematic design for the Welcome Center, with BECK then creating the detailed design, manging fabrication and overseeing the installation. BECK and Cultural Innovations have a long and successful history of working together to develop and deliver exhibitions and visitor experiences for some of the world’s most respected and prestigious institutions.
“This marks the start of a long and healthy partnership with KAUST, which begins with the realisation of their Welcome Center alongside Cultural Innovations.”
