Chris Galloway

Chairman

Chris galloway
Our Chief Executive, initially from a military background in the Engineers. On returning to civilian life he studied furniture and interior design, before joining the BECK drawing office in 1997. Chris began working his way up through the business, becoming a proud board director and then co-owner.

His natural leadership skills steer the company with ambition but also sincerity. He always makes himself available to all clients on all projects and believes in a leadership team that is hands-on, as well as knowledgeable on the day-to-day running of any project.

“We are a specialist shop-fitting company at heart, now competing and succeeding in a market of main contractors,” he points out. “I make sure we allocate the right team to the right project and deliver quality on time, every time. Quality is at the forefront of the BECK culture”

Chris’s favourite BECK project: “I was a barman at the Sheraton in Edinburgh whilst studying, so luxury hotels in general always get my vote! Prior to recent world events, hotels have become hot spots for not just spending the night but also socialising, fine dining, cocktails and much, much more. “

Mark leads our Museum sector and maintains a sharp eye for detail, embodying the company’s commitment to the highest of standards. He also promotes the joinery shop with the Bespoke brand, with the pursuit of perfection he learned way back as an apprentice joiner.

“One of the stand-outs of my career was celebrating BECK’s 25th anniversary in 2019, when everyone came together to honour what we’ve achieved so far”, he says. “What a truly extraordinary journey.”

Mark’s favourite BECK project: “I have especially enjoyed our museum projects in Hong Kong, the Middle East and the US. They were some of my most challenging but personally rewarding achievements and also gave me the chance to see new places and cultures. What a perfect mix.”

Chris Lawrenson

Board Director

Chris Lawrenson
Chris enjoyed working on his ambition of turning to pro-golf before switching careers and joining BECK in 2004, to work alongside his father in estimating. Within a few years, he was project managing the fit-out of a VIP experience in Alaska and had found his life’s vocation.

Rising to lead the Estimating department in the Museum Sector, Chris then turned his hand to successful Project Delivery. He puts his success down to one thing, “One hundred per cent commitment to every client’s project. To quality, to service and to honesty. I will go that extra mile to ensure that the lasting impression of working with BECK is that we are always here when our clients need us.”

Chris’s favourite BECK project: “The Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Centre in Al Ain in the UAE is the stand-out one for me. The building was designed to look like a coiled-up snake and we created internal displays to look like an abstract representation of sand dunes. Simple materials but an incredible finished display.”

Edward’s favourite project: “Refurbishing the iconic Bow Street Magistrates Court into the first London location for the NoMad hotel brand, has been a great achievement and particularly rewarding. Combining the building’s history together with utmost in stylish design has meant seeing the connection between its old and new use of life, first-hand. These two elements, together with BECK’s attention to detail and pursuit of excellence, deems the project one of a kind.”
