BECK is delighted to have had a large group of staff take part in this year’s JLL Property Triathlon. The triathlon is one of the UK’s top five largest and consists of a 750m swim, 21.2km Bike ride and 5km run.
2022 saw the 15th year of the event taking place on a beautiful summer’s day at Dorney Lake in Berkshire. Included are a sprint distance triathlon, duathlon, 2.2km swim and fancy-dress wave. The variety of races offer an inclusive way for people of different ages and abilities to come together. Whether competing or spectating, to make new business connections or participate with colleagues.
Group Commercial Director, Dan Herron took part in the cycling part of the relay and says: “What a day! Great team bonding and it was fantastic to compete with other like-minded companies and individuals.
The event is open to all competitors in full time employment within the property industry. To date the JLL Property Triathlon has raised over £2 million for charity. This year the event entered a three-year partnership with the WWF and raised over £179,000. BECK employees took part in both the individual triathlon and relay events. All were given personalised monogrammed BECK bottles.
Project Commercial Director, Eamonn Twomey, bounced back from a knee operation at the end of last year to take part in the individual triathlon and relay. He says: “It was so enjoyable to go back out and compete again. It was a day of friendly competitiveness in glorious weather. It was also fantastic to see staff challenging themselves by participating in the individual or relay events for the first time”.
MEP Manager, Alex Potter was our eldest triathlete and headed out in wave 4 of the men’s 55+ category. Proving that age is no barrier, Alex says: “I was nervous as it was my first time. However, it was a great event. So many fantastic people! I was delighted to finish the race and very pleased with my overall time. Very happy!”
Vanessa Budd, Business Development Executive says: “BECK has participated in the JLL triathlon for 6 years now and it has been fantastic to have so many of the team taking part in 2022. The atmosphere is always incredible and most importantly, we know our involvement helps to raise money for essential causes.”
Chris Galloway, Group Managing Director says: “This has been a long-standing event for our BECK employees and the participation has always been strong. I was delighted to attend and take part this year in the cycle, as part of the relay triathlon. Well done to all those who took part, including those across the industry. A very well organised event by JLL.”
